My wife was driving around Vegas looking for a place to eat. We found this steak restaurant that’s completely empty. I got it. Let’s try it and rate it.

We spent $72.58. The name of this place is Bakaya Steak Restaurant. It’s 4:29 on a Friday afternoon, and this place is completely empty. I’ve driven past this place a thousand times and never thought to stop.

I looked at them, and it looked delicious. Why is this restaurant empty on a Friday afternoon? Is it the customer service? Is it the food? Is it the lack of marketing? We’re about to find out.

And based on the customer service alone, I’m very happy we stopped. The lady who took my order explained everything to us. I even asked her what a pakaya steak is. She explained to me that it’s a cut of meat. I thought it was like a seasoning or a marinade, but actually, it’s a cut, like how ribeye is a cut, or skirt steak, flat steak, all of that.

I’ve heard of a pakaya before, but I never knew that. I’mma show you everything I got, and we’re gonna try it and rate it one to ten.

We got:

Chicken tacos
A steak taco with everything on it
A side of mac and cheese
A chicken kids meal with chicken and mac and cheese
A steak taco plate with fries (which came with a side of mac and cheese)
Last but not least, a bakaya steak plate with sausage, mushrooms, and grilled vegetables
You get all of this food for $70. In my opinion, I’m not mad at that. All of this is made to order, and it’s piping hot.

The chicken tacos, I will say off the rip, are a little greasy. You can see it’s super shiny at the bottom. Yeah, it’s a little too greasy for me, but the flavor is really good. The chicken is great. What’s that sauce? It’s like a chimichurri sauce, and that chimichurri sauce is fire.

I can tell they probably do the tortillas in a shallow pan with some oil, but it was a lot of oil. Even with the grease, I still give it a 7. Without the excess grease, that could be in 8 territory.

Next, this is the steak taco with everything on it: chimichurri, cheese, chipotle mayo, and a cabbage slaw. Mmm-hmm. It’s flavor all through this taco. It’s a good taco. Mmm-hmm. It’s a little greasy, but it’s a lot less greasy than the chicken. If that’s any indication, I’m in 8 territory. I give it an 8.6 out of 10.

Now the fries. This color is amazing. Oh, I love crispy fries. They’re crispy and seasoned. The fries are hot for me. I give them an 8.7 out of 10.

So far, I have no idea why this place is empty on a Friday afternoon. Usually, I’d cut it here, but I’m just gonna bite straight into this steak. It’s juicy. Uh-huh, I knew it the second it touched my tongue. That thing is seasoned—garlicky, salty—damn. It’s got a really good amount of fat. Let’s try it with that chimichurri sauce. Mmm, that’s different. I’ve never had a sausage taste like this before.

I’m not a huge fan of the sausage, though. It’s not bad, just different. It’s very unique. I don’t know what kind of meat this is, but it’s salty, spicy, and flavorful. The texture is pretty soft, though, which is why I’m not a huge fan (I’m a texture person). But I can see a lot of people liking this, cause the flavor is really good.

For me, this is a 5.2 out of 10. It’s not terrible, just average for me. But this steak? It’s very above average. I give the steak an 8.7 out of 10. Steak on a taco is an 8.7 too.

Finally, the mac and cheese. Presentation-wise, I’m not a huge fan. It doesn’t look like the kind of mac and cheese I’d personally like. It looks like they just cooked noodles and threw the cheese sauce directly on top. The sauce looks a little loose. It’s different. It’s not bad, to me at least. It just tastes like they took high-quality noodles and poured cheese sauce on top. They didn’t bake it into it, didn’t incorporate it. So, it’s pretty average for me—5 out of 10.

Overall, I think I know why this place is empty: marketing. Cause the food is really good, and the customer service is amazing. I just think people don’t know about it, and I pray that after this, that changes.

God bless you. Have an amazing day. Y’all be safe.

Real quick before I leave, my wife just went in there and got a red velvet cake. She said this is top five, the best she’s ever had. First, she said it was the best, then said top five. It looks good. A lot of people go really dry with red velvet, and that, to me, is perfect. Damn. It’s not too sweet either? Yeah, get that away from me. I’ll mess around and eat the whole thing. You taste coconut? Or is it just me? Uh-huh. I taste coconut. I give it a 9.
