AI-Generated Summary: Keith Lee’s Coops Pit BBQ Restaurant Review Video

Coops Pit BBQ reviewed by restaurant food influencer

Keith Lee and his family were driving around Miami, Florida, when they stumbled upon a barbecue food truck (Coops Pit BBQ) in a gas station parking lot. After realizing it wasn’t the truck that had reached out to him on Instagram, they decided to give it a try anyway. Keith believes this unexpected stop was part of God’s plan.

The owner, who wasn’t familiar with social media, was running the truck by himself, even on Memorial Day, and Keith appreciated his dedication. The customer service was excellent according to Keith’s family.

Here’s what Keith tried and how he rated each item:

  • Ribs: Though lacking char on the surface, they were flavorful, tender, juicy, and covered in homemade sauce.
    Rating: 8.7/10
  • Chicken: Similarly, Keith was expecting more color, but the chicken had a distinct barbecue taste with a smoky, nostalgic flavor. Rating: 8.8/10
  • Baked Beans: Keith found the baked beans overly sweet, comparing them to pie filling, which wasn’t to his taste.
    Rating: 2/10
  • Greens: Vinegary and spicy, Keith enjoyed the greens.
    Rating: 8/10

Keith was impressed by the food, despite the initial presentation, and had a conversation with the owner about his cooking process. Keith and his family left a $3,000 tip as a gesture of appreciation. He hopes the owner reaches his target audience.

Me and my family were driving around Miami, Florida, when we saw this barbecue food truck rolling inside of a gas station parking lot. When I say rolling, he had the whole block smoking.

After we decided to stop by, I checked my IG to see if they had reached out previously asking us to come. I searched what I thought was their name, and a food truck popped up. This food truck followed us and had mentioned me in one of their stories.

Come to find out, this is not the food truck that we stopped at. This is the IG page of the food truck that we stopped at. We later found out that the owner wasn’t really on social media and had no idea who we were. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, believe this was in God’s plans. I don’t think He makes mistakes. Later in the video, I think you’ll see why I say that.

Nonetheless, I wanna see if this barbecue is hitting.

I got it. Let’s try it and rate it.

We spent $75.90. Customer service? My family said it was extremely good. Today is Monday, and it’s Memorial Day. He’s one of the only small businesses I’ve seen that’s open. And he’s in there by himself, sweating, smoking meat again. There’s smoke everywhere, and it smells good. I can’t wait.

I’mma show you everything I got, and we’re gonna try it. Ready? 1 to 10.

  • A whole chicken
  • A slab of ribs (half slab in one container, the other half in another)
  • A side of coleslaw
  • A side of greens
  • A side of baked beans

This is an excessive amount of food. For $60, you can feed a whole family.

You wanna start with the ribs? Now, off of presentation, I was expecting more color. I thought they’d be more burnt or have some char, but I don’t see any. It might just be straight smoke.

Let’s get another piece. It’s got a lot of meat on it. Ain’t no way… That’s good for you. Real good for you. Please try that.

It’s got a lot of apple cider vinegar, it’s very fatty, but it’s real tender and juicy. I like that sauce. Oh yeah. This is like Uncle Barbecue.

Oh my God, somebody’s uncle is barbecuing at another block party or something. He emphasizes the sauce. It tastes like homemade sauce.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much based on the looks, but that is downright delicious. Haha. That is gas. You know that water bottle where you poke the top and squeeze? He squeezed the hell out of this sauce.

Oh my God. 8.7 out of 10.

Now onto the chicken. It’s kind of the same thing. I was expecting more color, but again, he might just smoke it. He might have a different kind of process, maybe doesn’t put it on a grill at all.

It tastes like barbecue. I taste barbecue, charcoal, and smoke. How’s he doing that? I don’t know. This is the most perplexed I’ve ever been while eating barbecue. It doesn’t taste like any other barbecue I’ve had in my life.

It’s good. It’s very good. We just jumped. Damn. How’d he do that? Damn right. Weird.

I can’t put my finger on it, but something’s different. No, wait, it’s actually very familiar. It tastes like barbecue from back in the day when the chicken was real.

8.8 out of 10.

How does he do it? I don’t know. I’m not even gonna ask any more questions.

These baked beans… there’s a whole lot of them. Oh, they’re too sweet for me. That’s a lot of brown sugar.

A whole lot of brown sugar. I could smell it when I opened the bag. Boy, that’s like a pie filling—baked bean pie. I can see people really liking this, but for me, it’s way too sweet.

2 out of 10.

First thing I’d do is add some pineapple, some bacon, or some acidity—something to cut through the sweetness. Maybe even cinnamon, low key. I taste sugar.

Yeah, Ronnie gave it a 9, but everybody’s taste is different. What’s sweet to me might not be sweet to you.

Now onto the greens—vinegary and spicy. I like them. They’re really good to me.

8 out of 10.

Overall, for us to just drive past this place and have it be one of the best we’ve had since being here—even though we’ve only been to like two or three places so far—God didn’t make a mistake.

We had a conversation with the owner, and I asked him how he does it. He explained that he slow-smokes everything and throws it on the grill afterward. But the pieces we got were pulled off prematurely, so they didn’t have a char. I asked if I could try some pieces with char, and he said yes without hesitation. And again, he had no idea who we were.

We got more barbecue—this time, no sauce. No sauce.

What’s going on? My opinion? It was just his customer service. He was extremely kind-hearted, and he seemed like a wonderful person. At least to me, that’s what I got out of it.

Me and my family left him $3,000, and we told him it might get a little crazy. No promises, but it might get a little wild. We gave him a heads-up.

“You try the $3,000? 3,000, 3,000. Just as a thank you. Your food is amazing, man.”

God bless you. I appreciate y’all.

And after this, I pray and hope he reaches his target audience.

God bless you. Have an amazing day. Y’all be safe.

He’s going home. He said, “That’s it, ladies and gentlemen.”
